In 2009, the BC Coalition of People with Disabilities formed a working group comprised of individuals representing user groups, training schools and working dog users, as identified below, in order to review the existing BC Guide Animal Act.
Our working group consisted of representation from the following organizations:

Access for Sight Impaired Consumers
Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians
Autism Support Dogs
BC Guide Dog Services
CNIB
Pacific Assistance Dogs
Paws International
Input from this group of representatives has resulted in the development of a draft BC Guide and Assistance Dog Act. The draft act was presented to the Honourable Michael de Jong, Attorney General and Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General on July 30, 2010.
